Curtin University Completion Scholarship


Apply for Phd Scholarships maintained for a period of 4 months, during which time students must complete and submit their thesis.

Eligibility Details:

Apply for Phd To be eligible for consideration for the Settlement Scholarships Curtin, at the time of application, students must:
enrolled in doctoral degree studies at Curtin University of Technology;
Students who first registered before September 2000 must be registered for not less than 3 and not more than 5 full-time equivalent (EFT) years; or
Students who registered from 1 September 2000 must be registered for not less than 2 and no more than 4 Full time equivalent (EFT) years.

yet holds a Doctorate considered equivalent to a PhD level of education of Australia;

These scholarships will be paid in three installments:
$ 2,000 at the beginning of the award;
$ 2,000 on completion of 2 months to provide the agreed milestones met for the satisfaction of supervisors, and

Furthermore, the allowance to $ 200 for costs associated with thesis production will be paid upon production of receipts.

University Phd Program Our research on C. elegans has focused primarily on the motion, and we recently expanded our scope to address the sensor (and sensory-motor) sensor integration and plasticity in worms (chemotaxis) circuit. We follow, integrative systems biology approach in which data-driven models of biological-ground that is used to generate experimental predictions that feed back to our modeling work. CANERS Foundation Scholarship University Phd Program


The CANERS University Phd Program Foundation distributes scholarship applications for the benefit of students who are interested in pursuing an education and career in horticulture to all two year and four year colleges from which a horticulture degree can be obtained.
General Criteria:

The Amsterdam University College is currently looking for lecturers for the following courses:

1. Lecturer in Quantitative Methods (0.6-0.8 FTE)

Phd Program The lecturer will be expected to teach the Academic Core course Advanced Statistics (300-level) and three courses of Basic Research Methods and Statistics 11 (200-level) spread over two semesters. The lecturer will be expected to teach the courses Theme: Globalisation (2x) (300-level), International Political Economy (200-level) and/or International Crimes (300-level). It is also expected that the lecturer will take on a number of tutor groups and be involved in capstone supervision.

3. Lecturer in Law and Political Sciences (0.6-0.8 FTE)

The lecturer will be expected to teach the courses Introduction to Social Policy 2x (100-level) and International Crimes (300-level) and/or History of National Civil Rights Movements (300-level). It is also expected that the lecturer will take on a number of tutor groups and be involved in capstone supervision.

4. Lecturer in Sociology or Social Policy (0.6-0.8 FTE)

The lecturer will be expected to teach the courses Comparative Modern Societies (200-level), Development of Social Policy (300-level), Theme: Globalisation (300-level), and as needed, quantitative methodology courses in Academic Core. It is also expected that the lecturer will take on a number of tutor groups and be involved in capstone supervision.

5. Lecturer in the Visual Arts (0.6 FTE)

The lecturer will be expected to teach the courses Periods and Genres (100-level) and Texts and (Moving) Image (200-level). It is also expected that the lecturer will take on a number of tutor groups and be involved in capstone supervision.

Requirements

Criteria for AUC Faculty:

  1. Teachers should possess PhDs in the area to be taught and should have a clear affinity with an interdisciplinary approach to education.
  2. Teachers should have experience as a teacher and should be able to show proven quality in teaching. They should have a strong commitment towards developing excellence in education.
  3. Teachers should have an international profile and/or experience.
  4. Teachers should have an affinity with, and preferably experience with Liberal Arts and Sciences education.
  5. Teachers should have (near) native-speaker English, and a good command of Dutch and/or another language.
  6. Teachers should have the ability and be prepared to coach students intensively and to be part of a multi-disciplinary and international team.
  7. Teachers should have the ability and be prepared to involve external stakeholders in their lectures in order to reinforce the students’ learning experience.

Conditions of employment

The appointment that we offer will initially be for one year, preferably starting on 1 August 2011, with the possibility of extension into a permanent contract. The salary will depend on qualifications and experience, ranging from €2,379 to €5,390 gross per month on a full-time basis (scale 10-13).

University PhD Program Scholarship in GeoBiosphere Science, Sweden

Phd scholarship in GeoBiosphere Sciences, Geology at Lund University, Sweden

We have an opening for a Phd scholarship for a highly motivated person to join our research on a high-grade metamorphic section of the Sveconorwegian orogen. It is the Scandinavian equivalent to the Grenville orogen, and the result of collision tectonics at around 1 Ga ago during the assembly of supercontinent Rodinia. The project area in SW Sweden exposes a window into one of the deepest buried and most ductile parts of this mountain chain. The high-grade deformational and metamorphic processes are considered to be of major importance in the evolution and structural build-up of the orogen.

The PhD project focusses on mineral geochemistry and geochronology and is entitled “The effects of metamorphic processes on zircon textures and chemistry in metabasic rocks – implications for the interpretation of continental crust evolution.”

Eligibility/Entry Requirements

The applicant must hold a university degree (MSc/BSc or equivalent) in Earth Sciences at the time of appointment. A strong background in petrology is expected. Fluent spoken and written English is required. The scholarship requires ability to do fieldwork in a boreal landscape. Ability and willingness to travel to conferences, fieldtrips and workshops and analytical work (mainly Sweden and Canada) is essential; so is participation as a teaching assistant in the Geology Programme at Lund University.

The University Phd Program of Sheffield Prize Scholarships, UK

University Prize Scholarships cover the cost of the tuition fees and provide an annual, tax-free maintenance stipend of £16,000. The recipient will also receive a Research Training Support Grant of £2,000 to claim back expenses related to their research, such as travel, conferences, books, consumables, equipment, and other miscellaneous items.

Applications will be reviewed by a panel chaired by the Pro-Vice Chancellor for Research & Innovation and comprising the Directors of Research & Innovation from the five faculties. The strongest candidates will be submitted by the faculties into a University-wide competition, from which the Prize Scholarships will be awarded.

Awards are tenable for a maximum of three years full-time and six years part-time subject to satisfactory progress.
Eligibility

* Academic requirements – applicants should have, or expect to achieve, a first or upper second class UK honours degree or equivalent qualifications gained outside the UK in an appropriate area of study.
* Allowed study options – applicants should be registering on their first year of study with the University for 2011/12 on a full-time or part-time programme of doctoral study.
* Residency restrictions – awards are open to UK, EU and international applicants.
