University Phd Program Our research on C. elegans has focused primarily on the motion, and we recently expanded our scope to address the sensor (and sensory-motor) sensor integration and plasticity in worms (chemotaxis) circuit. We follow, integrative systems biology approach in which data-driven models of biological-ground that is used to generate experimental predictions that feed back to our modeling work. University Phd Program positions available for excellent candidates interested in modeling, experiments, or combine both. Project on sensory perception, sensory integration, motor control, or learning and memory in the worm can be considered.
Requirements: All University Phd Program candidates must have a strong undergraduate degree in a relevant field (see below).http://www.callforpapersinfo.com
http://thescholarshipprogramme.com Prior experience in research (ega master's degree, or working in the industry) is a plus. Prior experience in biological modeling is not required. PhD candidate for the modeling project must have a strong background in physics, applied mathematics, biophysics, computer science, electrical engineering or related field. University Phd Program Candidates interested in experimental work must have a strong background in relevant areas of biological sciences, especially in multi-disciplinary environment.
Scholarship Application Deadline: June 30, 2011
